Why does Infiniti G37 weight more?

The G35 weights over 100lbs less than the G37. Now I know the engine is a bit bigger, but what else is making it so heavy? What did hey change? Also, do you know of any way to make the car around 3400lbs [opposed to the 3668 curb weight] or less? I find the term "luxuary sport cars" to be an oxymoron. A sport car should be light, not heavy. Or at least use nice material that's light if you want to consider it as luxuary.|||100 pounds is nothing. It has a bigger engine and more luxury/safety features. So that would add up to the 100 pounds in wieght. You could just take some of the stuff out of the car to make it lighter. As far as "luxury sports car" it's just another way to say a Gran Turismo/Grand Tourer. It's a car that's fast, but also comfortable to drive in. A true GT is much faster than your average car so it is considered a "sports car", but it has leather, wood grain, nav systems, sound dampening equipment, to make the car more comfortable.|||Well the G37 is pretty much a waste. You could rip out all the extra crap like power seats, back seats, navigation, stereo, etc. But then you could just buy a 350Z for less that never had that junk in it.|||The previous poster is right. A 350Z will give you the same thrill and buying an over bloated Nissan does not mean Luxury and is true, that is an Oxymoron.

Luxury cars are hand made, real wood, hand picked leather. To the point that by having one, means that you are showing off your wealth. Very few can afford it and that is the WOW effect that is supposed to give.

Seems that is redefined to more of a cheap mass produce car, with Leatherate seats, fake wood trim, more gadgets than a Geek Squad Mobile and higher price tag.
