Why should I buy one over the other? What are the positives and negatives over each car?|||Great question. I am a previous "owner" of a 2007 BMW 328I sedan, I now currently have a 2009 Infiniti G37 sedan. First off Infiniti is a great great great Luxury automobile. Admittingly I am a tad bit superficial and picky when it comes to purchasing/leasing a car. My previous Lease was a 2007 BMW 328i sedan, I can honestly tell you that when it comes to performance and luxury Infiniti hands down takes the title. I am very content with my 09 G37 sedan, it has been nothing but a dream so far. I currently have the Journey package on my G37, I decided not to opt for the Navi package seeing that I already had a GPS (Tom Tom) from the previous BMW I had. Anyway with or without the Navi package I still got the LCD screen on my G37, BMW never gave me that. It looks way more modern and sophisticated when compared to BMW's interior designs. Dont get me wrong I loved BMW but I thought the car lacked a little bit in the performance and luxury department for the money I was paying for monthly. Now Im paying about just $50 more then my previous lease and its well worth the little extra money for everything im getting standard in the G37. By the way the G37 sedan just got facelift and a few interior changes for 2010 and it looks amazing! The 2010 BMW 335Xi will cost you $42,600 (standard) and it will only produce 300 HP while the 2010 Infiniti G37X AWD sedan will produce 328 HP and it will cost you $37,000 (standard) and fully loaded will cost you $47,000-$50,000 while the BMW 335xi will cost you $51,000-$55,000 when fully loaded. Not to mention that when you opt for a Journey package on a 2010 Infiniti G37 sedan you will now get a Rear view camera and Rear sonar detection system standard on the G37 without opting for a Nav system. When i leased my 2009 G37 inorder to get the rear view camera you had to opt for the Navi package. My 2009 G37 Journey package included Handsfree Bluetooth, heated front seats, Diming rear view mirror, automatic tilt and teliscopic steering wheel and memory seats while in the 2010 G37 journey package now includes extras such as a rearview camera and rear sonar system. Although my previous BMW had xenon headlights I had to opt inorder to get them while all infiniti's come standard with Dual xenon headlight regardless of the package you choose. As you can tell i did my research before leasing the Infiniti, I couldnt be happier.

EDIT: Dont pay attention to the last guy he clearly doesnt no anything about Infiniti or BMW, he's just a BMW fanatic i highly doubt he is a personal owner of either. Infiniti will give you a loaner car with out charge, usually all luxury manufacturers do this such as Lexus, Infiniti, BMW and Mercedes. If you read into Infiniti they call it the "Infiniti Total Ownership Experience"|||Couple things to consider:
BMW will give you a loaner when you need service. Infiniti will charge you for a rental. Oil changes, brakes, fluids, etc are all free with BMW. You have to pay for them with the Infiniti. The BMW also has a better residual value, so if you buy it, it's a better investment. The 335xi is also a better drive. Overall, the Infiniti is by no means a bad car, but the 335i is simply better.|||In order to judge any two cars you need to know what you value in a car. Styling? Power? Handling? Comfort? Luxury? Image? If you don't honestly know what you want in a car, how can you make a good decision?
Everything is a trade off in a car. A better handling car will make for a stiffer and harsher ride. A comfortable car will make for sloppy handling. A manual transmission will involve you more with the car, give you more control but demand more effort, whereas an automatic is more relaxed but not much fun.
As a car enthusiast and giving my personal opinion I would have to say those two cars seem like “desk job-look how well I’m doing financially” cars. They are marketed with “passion” and the commercials are all about power, high performance, refinement and luxury. However, I feel that these cars, while fast and expensive, are unoriginal, conservative, and boring. Though I am partial to BMW, I would suggest you look at more than just those two cars.
If you are into high performance European luxury I would go for a late model BMW M5 which has more space, is more fun to drive, and is a hell of a lot faster and better handling than 335 or g37.
If you want something that’s really comfortable and spacious, get a luxury SUV. Hell, get an Escalade! Everyone else on the road may sneer at your lack of environmental consciousness but most of them are hypocrites anyway.
If you truly love driving, get yourself a lightweight sports car like a mazda miata or a lotus elise. Admittedly, they are not very practical and people might think you are gay, but those cars have superb handling and are just plain fun every single day of the year. Cheap Therapy!
If your top priority is shiny new paint and standard hands-free Bluetooth buy the infinity G37 .|||This guy can go on and on about the options included on the g37, they mean nothing. Who needs a camera in a small car??? Did we forget how to drive?
BMW is all about the drive, it's all about steering feel, brake feel and providing a confident ride. yes, the G is a very good handling car and very powerful, but it lacks the confidence inspiring drive that the BMW gives you.
Bottom line is: If you want a step below the best, the Nissan (whoops Infinity) is a good option, but for the driving enthusiast, nothing less than a bmw will do.
